Draft template — not a contract.
This sets expectations for everyone involved. Nothing here is binding until each party signs its own agreement. Bracketed items are placeholders. Version agreement-draft/2026-09-06.

Community Energy Participation Agreement — Draft Template
Parties
- [Homeowner name], owner or authorized occupant of [Service address] (the Homeowner)
- OnMyRoof (the Platform)
- [Installer], a licensed installation partner (the Installer)
- [Program operator], operator of [Program name] (the Program Operator)
- [Sponsor], funder of community-benefit and capacity commitments (the Sponsor), where applicable
1. Purpose and roles
This template describes what each party does so that no household is surprised later. Each party's binding commitments live in that party's own agreement with the Homeowner.
- The Platform qualifies the address, records consent, tracks the project, and shows the Homeowner every number with its source. The Platform does not install equipment and does not control any device.
- The Installer surveys, designs, permits, installs, commissions and services the equipment under its own contract with the Homeowner.
- The Program Operator sets program rules, dispatches enrolled resources, and settles any earnings under its own program terms.
- The Sponsor provides funding under a separate program agreement; sponsor money is described as announced, committed, received or deployed — never as guaranteed to any household until it is paid.
2. Estimates are not guarantees
Roof potential, system size, production, savings and backup duration shown by the Platform are estimates from models and imagery, labeled as such with the model used and the date. They are not quotes. The Installer's site survey and signed proposal supersede any estimate.
3. Homeowner commitments
- Provide a recent utility bill and reasonable access for a site survey.
- Indicate a preferred battery location; the Installer confirms a code-compliant location.
- Respond to decisions (design approval, contract, scheduling) within [10] business days so the project does not stall.
- Keep the Platform informed of changes in ownership, occupancy or contact details.
4. Installer commitments
- Perform the survey and deliver a design and a written proposal with cash and financed economics, all fees disclosed, and who receives any incentive.
- Obtain permits and utility interconnection; record each milestone (survey, design, permit, install, inspection, permission to operate) with a date and evidence.
- Commission the system, provide equipment serial numbers and warranties, and offer a maintenance plan.
- Never contact the Homeowner for unrelated marketing and never resell Homeowner information.
5. Program Operator commitments
- Publish the program rules: eligible equipment, dispatch conditions, expected event frequency, and how earnings are calculated and paid.
- Provide settlement statements the Homeowner can see in the Platform, labeled Settlement.
- Honor a Homeowner's revocation of data access or program participation within [30] days, subject to any minimum term stated in the program terms.
6. Data and consent
Each use of Homeowner data requires a separate, versioned consent recorded in the Platform's consent ledger: account and privacy, program enrollment, transfer to a named partner, utility data, equipment data, program (VPP) agreement, and marketing. Any consent can be revoked; revocation is recorded, never edited away.
The Sponsor receives aggregate program reporting only, unless the Homeowner explicitly authorizes otherwise.
7. Money
- The Homeowner owes the Platform nothing for qualification, enrollment or tracking.
- Incentives are shown only after their effective dates and legal review; eligibility depends on the project, ownership and placed-in-service date.
- Any Platform fee is paid by the Installer, Program Operator or Sponsor on documented milestones and is disclosed to the Homeowner on request.
8. Timeline and milestones
Lead accepted → site survey → design → financing or funding → contract → permit → utility interconnection → installation scheduled → installation complete → inspection → permission to operate → commissioning → program activation. Each milestone shows an owner, a target date and, if blocked, the reason.
9. Withdrawal
The Homeowner may withdraw from the Platform at any time before signing an Installer contract with no cost. After that, withdrawal follows the Installer's and Program Operator's own terms.
10. Signatures (each party signs its own agreement)
- Homeowner: [name] · [date]
- Installer: [authorized signer] · [date]
- Program Operator: [authorized signer] · [date]
- Platform acknowledgment: OnMyRoof · [date]
